From the Back Cover...
It is very important that we learn more about the personality of the Holy Spirit; for it is only when we learn these
truths that we can give Him the honor, worship, adoration and personal respect that we can give to God. We must learn that
He is a person who is infinitely wise, holy, just and gracious, and who seeks to get hold of us and use us.
At some point and time, each of us experiences the sorrow, the pains, the agonies, the frustrations, and the condemnations
that come while serving the Lord Jesus Christ. The scriptures reveal the consequences of serving God with joy.

The Holy Spirit Defined and Described
The Holy Spirit is called the Breath of
God. The Old English used the word ghost as in giving up the ghost, so the Breath of God was used, as well as the
expression Holy Ghost. The word holy
is defined as “spiritually perfect or pure, untainted by evil or sin, sinless.” Spirit is described as “the Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity.”
Berkhol defined Him in this manner, “God is one, absolute, unchangeable and infinite in His knowledge and wisdom,
His goodness and love, His grace and mercy, His righteousness and holiness.”
In Gen. 1:2, the Hebrew word, ruwach is used to describe the Spirit as wind,
resembling breath, like anger, blast, courage, mind, whirlwind, or tempest. John 14:26 uses the Greek word, parakletos,
defined in this passage as an intercessor, consoler, advocate, comforter, strengthener, or standby. Deut. 32:11 has described
the Spirit as “a mother bird, hovering or fluttering over her young in a vibrant, protective way.”
