The Woman
Grace M. Hughes was born on September 17, 1928 in Liberty County, Georgia but relocated to Plainfield, New Jersey at
a young age, where she lived for nearly thirty years. In 1986, she achieved an advanced degree in Ministerial Training and
Pastoral Theology from the American Bible College, Vauxhall Extension Center.
The Minister
Rev. Hughes joined the Shiloh Baptist Church in 1963, serving on the Usher Board and various other ministries. In 1978
she joined her husband, the late Reverend Frederick Hughes at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fanwood, New Jersey, where he
was the Assistant Pastor. In August of 1987, Grace Hughes was ordained and installed as pastor of the True Vine Missionary
Baptist Church which she pastured for five years before relocating to Valdosta, Georgia where she continues to reside. She
currently serves as Associate Pastor of Good Hope Christian Church in Valdosta.
